Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using QuantLabs ("the Platform," "we," "our," or "us"), you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have read and understood these Terms of Service, and agree to be legally bound by them. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

2. Description of Service

QuantLabs provides structured educational content, interactive coding labs, assessments, and community resources for individuals learning to build and deploy algorithmic trading systems. The Platform is organised into five competency tiers (T0–T4) and includes courses, video lessons, sandbox environments, and certification pathways.

The Platform does not execute trades, manage funds, provide brokerage services, or offer regulated financial services of any kind.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate, complete, and current information at registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must notify us immediately at security@quantlabs.academy if you suspect unauthorised access
• One account per person — account sharing or resale is strictly prohibited
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Educational Content

All course material, code examples, strategies discussed, and platform content are provided strictly for educational purposes. Nothing on the Platform should be construed as:

• Financial advice, investment advice, or trading recommendations
• A guarantee of profitability or trading success
• An endorsement of any specific trading strategy, exchange, or asset
• A solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument

Strategies taught in courses are illustrative only. Real-world trading involves risks not present in backtested or simulated environments.

5. Trading Risks

• You may lose some or all of your invested capital
• Past performance demonstrated in course materials does not guarantee future results
• Backtested results do not reflect actual trading performance
• You are solely responsible for all trading decisions made using knowledge gained on the Platform
• QuantLabs is not liable for any direct or indirect trading losses
• Market conditions can change rapidly and unpredictably
• Regulatory changes may affect the legality of certain strategies in your jurisdiction

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including but not limited to course videos, written lessons, code examples, assessments, graphics, logos, and the Platform software — is the exclusive property of QuantLabs and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or resell any Platform content
• Record or screenshot video lessons for distribution
• Share your account credentials or grant others access to your account
• Use Platform content to train AI/ML models without written permission
• Remove or obscure copyright notices or branding

You may:

• Apply concepts and techniques learned on the Platform in your own projects
• Share links to public Platform pages
• Quote brief excerpts for commentary or educational critique with attribution

7. Subscription and Payments

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle depending on your plan. All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you agree to:

• Pay all fees associated with your selected subscription plan
• Keep your payment method current and valid
• Authorise recurring charges until you cancel

Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. New subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of initial purchase by contacting billing@quantlabs.academy. Refunds are not available after 14 days or for renewals.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice via email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt Platform infrastructure or servers
• Introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download Platform content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or staff
• Impersonate QuantLabs or any employee
• Share, resell, or commercially exploit course content
• Use the Platform to facilitate market manipulation or illegal trading activity

9. Termination

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion for any material violation of these Terms, without prior notice where urgent (e.g. security threats, fraud). Upon termination:

• Your access to the Platform and all content is immediately revoked
• You must cease all use of Platform content
• Outstanding subscription fees remain payable
• No refund will be issued for violations of these Terms

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
• Any errors or defects will be corrected
• The Platform or its servers are free of viruses or harmful components
• The accuracy or completeness of any content is guaranteed

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuantLabs, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, trading losses, data loss, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) $100 USD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QuantLabs and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the Platform; your violation of these Terms; your violation of any third-party rights; or any trading activity conducted using knowledge gained on the Platform.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be subject to informal negotiation for 30 days. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration in New York County under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action proceedings.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days advance notice via email and an in-app banner. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must cancel your account before they take effect.
